To make selection easier, each Robitussin pack includes a symbol to indicate different symptoms.
The Bullseye
This symbol indicates that the product contains an expectorant and/or mucolytic. An expectorant helps liquefy and thin the phlegm. Mucolytic breaks down the fibres in the phlegm, making it thinner. Both actives work together to thin the phlegm, making it easier to cough up
Downward Arrow
This symbol indicates that the product contains a cough suppressant. A cough suppressant helps control a dry raspy cough, reducing the urge to cough.
Horizontal Arrow
The horizontal arrow symbolizes the Robitussin product also includes a nasal decongestant to help clear nasal congestion.
Additional Ways to Help Manage Coughs
There are measures that you can take to prevent and/or ease the severity of your cough. These are1;- Always cover your mouth to prevent spread of the infection
- Stop a bout of coughing by sipping water or sucking lozenges.
- Have steam inhalations (or a hot shower) to loosen sputum.
- Wash your hands well before and preparing food and caring for others
- Don’t smoke
- Get rest & relaxation
- Eat healthy meals
- Drink at least 2 litres of water daily (unless a doctor advises not to).
